Trying to see God's plan

So today I read an article in the BBC news about 12 police killed in Niger. It is heart breaking to see the strife. Those men all had families that will never see them again. I confess that I find it hard to see God's plan in all of this. I know that there is one but like a character in the middle of a book, I don't know how it is all going to end.

I simply have to trust that there is a plan.

give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Good news and bad news

I have good news!  My passport is back with the travel visa stamp.  I have my appointment arranged with the travel doctor, and I have bought some clothes to spray with permethrin (helps to avoid mosquito bites).  I also have some bad news:

Please pray for safety for all of those working in Niger including myself.

Psalm 23:4 - Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

I used the King James Version because that's how I memorized it as a kid.
